The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update Course course is designed for RHCEs with broad Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 or 4 experience. It is intended to bring them up to date on the latest technologies now in the new Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5. The course offers the RHCE exam on Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5 on the fourth day.
A Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administrator who has been trained on the new features of the version 5 of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The course also offers them the opportunity to recertify under version 5 using the realistic performance-based lab exam.
Red Hat Certified Engineers (RHCEs) who have significant real world experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, versions 3 and/or 4.
The RHUP304 course requires an RHCE certification along with broad, real-world experience with Red Hat enterprise Linux version 3 and/or 4.

The course will teach participants some of the new features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5, aimed at RHCEs familiar with versions 3 and/or 4 of Enterprise Linux. Although the course will focus on material new from version 4 to version 5, some version 3 to version 5 material is included as well.
In addition, as a service to those considering recertifying under Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5, items that are newly covered for the RHCE exam under version 5 are also presented.

Based on release scheduling, it may be necessary to offer these courses under the version 5 Beta release. Therefore, for any RHUP 304 participant who in turn fails the RHCE exam under the Beta, we will offer them a free retake of the RHCE exam under the released version of the software. Participants must sit this free retake within six months of their original class. Offer is not valid for those who take the RHCE exam under the non-Beta (general availability) release.
All other expenses of travel and per diem are the student“s responsibility.
